Welcome to the International Workshop on the Physics and Technology of Laser-Induced Plasma for Green Energy and Biomedical Applications!
Japan – Georgia – Europe
Laser Plasma Applications – Tbilisi 2025
Scope of the Workshop
This workshop explores the cutting-edge applications of laser-induced plasma in green energy and biomedical technologies. It focuses on the preparation and characterization of nanostructured materials using advanced laser-plasma techniques. Emphasis is placed on the role of 2D and 3D nanomaterials—such as silicon-graphene systems—in solar cells, spintronics, and quantum devices. Laser-based deposition methods for high-purity, multilayered structures will be discussed. The workshop highlights recent breakthroughs in laser-driven fusion and the design of proton–boron fuel targets. Innovative spectroscopy methods (Raman, IR, SFG, UV) will be covered for pathogen detection and nanoscale biosensing. Participants will share results in laser-driven synthesis of quantum materials and fusion targets. Discussion will include tailoring laser parameters for material structuring at the atomic scale as well as recent achievement of fusion ignition with laser-driven technologies using laser inertial fusion as a viable approach for future energy production. During the workshop it will be analyzed current investigations related to inertial-fusion energy with the mission to demonstrate laser-driven ignition in the direct-drive scheme and to develop pathway technologies for the fusion reactor. Event aims to strengthen Japan–Georgia–Europe and beyond collaboration in laser physics and nanotechnology. Outcomes include potential joint projects in sustainable energy and advanced medical applications.
